from the sky to the sea: designing for zero waste
2025–ongoing
Los Angeles, CA
Here at dosa, we’ve been exploring how you can design textiles and engineer garments to minimize waste within a single production cycle. For dosa’s 2025 summer line “from the sky to the sea,” multiple styles have been designed to utilize fabric leftover from the production of other garments in the same line. For example, the recycled parachute dress is patched using these remainders. Pieces that are too small or are cut off the recycled garments are then used to make large patchwork scrims, ensuring that there is minimal wasted fabric.
